The details of your surgery will be different depending on which procedure you choose. In general, just before your procedure, Dr. Leong will draw your desired hairline to follow the natural, original hairline. The hair will be cut short at the donor site, which is usually at the back of the head.
Local anesthesia will be applied to your scalp. A strip will be cut from the back of the scalp, or in the case of FUE transplantation, your surgeon will prepare the hair in the area where follicles will be removed.
For an FUE procedure, a finite tool called a micropunch will be used to remove the hair follicles from your skin. A series of tiny incisions will be made in the balding or thinning area where the extracted follicles will be inserted. The follicles are then inserted into these incisions.
